Becoming Catholic Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) (formerly RCIA)
This is a process for adults who are considering the possibility of becoming Roman Catholic. This includes the unbaptized, or baptized Christians who seek full communion and Catholics who have not received the sacraments of Eucharist and/or Confirmation. It is a community event, a ministry of witness and hospitality, ongoing and multidimensional. This process includes an adaptation for children and youth who need to prepare for Baptism. It is very fulfilling to be on this journey of faith with others.
Sponsor Prays for and accompanies a participant through the OCIA process, connects the
participant to the larger parish community, attends some OCIA sessions and stands with the candidates or catechumen at liturgical rites.
Team Member Assists Director of Faith Formation in a variety of roles.
Hospitality Invite a person or family in the process to coffee, conversation, or a parish event.
