By naming Lumen Christi Catholic Community and/or Highland Catholic School in your will or other estate plan, you will ensure the Light of Christ continues to burn bright in our Highland Park community for years to come. 

Making a planned gift can help you achieve your stewardship and philanthropic goals while also saving on taxes and enjoying other financial benefits. Wills and Trusts

Including a gift in your will or trust, known as a charitable bequest, is a meaningful way to support our parish and school. Gifts of any size benefit our faith-filled approach to worship, service, and Catholic education, and your generosity will strengthen and sustain our mission to share the light of Christ for years to come.

You can make a gift by including the Lumen Christi Catholic Community and/or Highland Catholic School as a beneficiary in your will or revocable trust. You can choose to give the parish and/or school a specific dollar amount, specific property, or a percentage of what remains after you’ve provided for your loved ones.

As with any gift to our community, you may direct your gift specifically to the parish or school. Alternatively, you may also make your gift unrestricted, allowing the parish to direct your gift to the area of greatest need at the time.

Sample gift language

To include a gift for Lumen Christi Catholic Community in your will or trust, we suggest using the following language: “I give [the sum, percentage, or description of property] to the The Church of Lumen Christi, Saint Paul, Minnesota, to be used for the benefit of [Lumen Christi Catholic Community -or- Highland Catholic School] or [according to my written instructions on file with the parish].”

If you prefer, your gift can be unrestricted, which means it will be used for the greatest need at the time it is received.

If you’ve already included a gift to Lumen Christi or Highland Catholic in your will or trust, thank you! We encourage you to tell us about your gift by completing our Estate Gift Form. By sharing your gift, you ensure that the foundation understands how you’d like your gift to be used. This document does not create a binding commitment. Any information you provide about your gift will be kept confidential.
